Paul Kinahan works in both clinical and advanced medical imaging methods. His research includes the physics of multimodality medical imaging, the use of statistical image reconstruction methods, scanner optimization and the use of quantitative analysis in oncology imaging. He was an assistant professor of Radiology at the University of Pittsburgh where he worked on a team that developed the first PET/CT scanner. In 1997 he was awarded the IEEE-NPSS Young Investigator Medical Imaging Science Career Award. He joined the UW in 2001. Read more about Kinahan’s work on the UW website.
